BD 180 Degree Rule

The 180 degree rule is where there are two people in the scene and they always have same left right relatinship in the shot. To explain how this rule works you have to imagine there is an imaginary line that yu cant cross to keep the actors in line with eachother.

This picture demonstrates where everything would be positioned when using the 180 degree rule, you have 2 people stood apart, and the imaginary line will be placed through them both and the camera will be in the of the corners near one of the people. The camera will then pan across the half moon line to make sure the left right relationship doesn't change.A really good example of the 180 degree that i have found is a scene from V for Vendetta. Although it all links to continuity editing, it does explain the rule fully and understandably.
